Embarking on personal projects is a great way to explore creativity and breaking away from the constraints of client briefs… when time is available!
What is an ambigram?
An ambigram, at its core, is a typographical treatment that challenges the way we perceive words. Wikipedia defines it as “a calligraphic composition of glyphs (letters, numbers, symbols or other shapes) that can yield different meanings depending on the orientation of observation.”

For my personal project, I decided to turn my name into an ambigram, aiming for a design where both my first and last name could be read no matter the rotation of the design.
The design
This wasn’t a swift task. Countless attempts, revisions, and tutorial later, I finally was satisfied by the result. What a sense of accomplishment.
If ever you were tempted to do the same, my advice would be to align the words in a way where you could see potential symmetry.
The animation
But why stop there? I took the ambigram to the next level by animating it using CodePen, my go-to platform for quick code experimentation. The animation added a dynamic flair, showcasing the versatility of the design.
In conclusion
This project wasn’t about ticking boxes or meeting specific criteria; it was a personal playground for spontaneous creativity. It served as a reminder of the joy found in uncharted territories and the boundless nature of creativity.
Sharing this isn’t about boasting; it’s an ode to the power of personal projects. They aren’t just exercises; they’re passionate endeavors that breathe life into our creativity. And if you’re in the coding realm, do yourself a favor and explore the wonders of CodePen – it’s a game-changer.
Here’s to more projects that spark joy, challenge us, and, most importantly, let us revel in the pure fun of creation! I hope you enjoyed this little detour into my creative haven.
